Sharing Time Talks For March 2018

Here are short talks that you can use for Sharing Time in Primary for the month of March:

Week 1:  Jesus Christ taught the gospel and set an example for us.

In gospel learning, as in all things, Jesus Christ is our perfect example. Because He was perfectly obedient and submissive to His Father, He “increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man” (Luke 2:52). Just as the Savior received “grace for grace” (D&C 93:12), we must patiently seek light and knowledge from God in our efforts to learn the gospel.

What are the things that Jesus taught that we must follow?
1. Service – The Savior provided the perfect example of service. He explained that He didn’t come to earth to be served but to serve and to give His life for us (see Matthew 20:28).
2. Love and Kindness – Jesus Christ set a perfect example of kindness and love. Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus showed His love for others by blessing and serving the poor, the sick, and the distressed. He told His disciples, “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you” (John 15:12; see also John 13:34–35; Moroni 7:46–48).
3. Obedience – Jesus has been submissive and obedient to Heavenly Father. He sacrificed His life to Atone our sins because that’s what Heavenly Father’s plan was.
4. Humility – Jesus Christ was born in a manger instead of a first-rate hospital to show that our Lord is humble and meek.

Week 2: Because of Christ’s Atonement, I can repent and live with God again.

Why should there be an Atonement? What is Atonement?

Jesus Christ “came into the world … to be crucified for the world, and to bear the sins of the world, and to sanctify the world, and to cleanse it from all unrighteousness; that through him all might be saved” (D&C 76:41–42). The great sacrifice He made to pay for our sins and overcome death is called the Atonement.

How Jesus loves us, to suffer such spiritual and physical agony for our sake! How great the love of Heavenly Father that He would send His Only Begotten Son to suffer and die for the rest of His children. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

In Doctrine and Covenants 19:16, it says “For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all that they might not suffer if they would repent.”  Because of Jesus Christ’s Atoning sacrifice, we can repent and live with Him again.

Week 3: Because Jesus was resurrected, I will be too.

In John 20:1, 11-18, it was told the account of Jesus Christ’s resurrection. When He was resurrected, His body and Spirit were reunited.  Because of Jesus Christ was resurrected, we would all be resurrected.

Alma 22:14 “And since man had fallen he could not merit anything of himself; but the sufferings and death of Christ atone for their sins, through faith and repentance, and so forth; and that he breaketh the bands of death, that the grave shall have no victory, and that the sting of death should be swallowed up in the hopes of glory; and Aaron did expound all these things unto the king.”

Week 4: Jesus Christ is our Savior.

Through Jesus Christ’s Atonement, all of us can be saved from sin.

Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley said, “Through giving His life in pain and unspeakable suffering, He has reached down to lift me and each of us and all the sons and daughters of God from the abyss of eternal darkness following death. He has provided something better—a sphere of light and understanding, growth and beauty where we may go forward on the road that leads to eternal life. My gratitude knows no bounds. My thanks to my Lord has no conclusion.”

What a great blessing it is to know that someone died for us so we could live again. His saved us from eternal darkness and gives us hope to have eternal life through His Atonement and our obedience to Heavenly Father’s commandments.
