Cumin is an aromatic spice with a unique bitter flavor and strong, warm tang due to its abundant oil content. Cumin looks like caraway, which is oblong in shape, longitudinally ridged, and yellow-brown in color. However, cumin is hotter to the taste, lighter in color, and larger.
